Our Mission
Our Story
For over 10 years, our founder, Latrica served as a registered dental hygienist in community dental health settings as a clinician and oral health educator. During her years of serving those of marginalized communities, a resounding trend was noticed. Many within the community attributed their current oral health status to inability to afford care, no reliable transportation to get to appointments, and limited knowledge of the importance of oral health.
In 2018, our founder, Latrica developed an oral health education program that focused on oral health and nutrition, while using hands on S.T.E.A.M. based activities to increase knowledge of oral hygiene methods and how nutrition impacts the oral cavity and systemic health. Although dental health education plays a big role in preventive dental health, Latrica believed she could better serve the community by making dental healthcare more accessible for marginalized communities by bringing dental care directly to their communities.
In 2021, Divine Smiles Preventive Dental Services was formed and opened to service those in metro Atlanta experiencing barriers to access to preventive dental health services. We believe that reducing the burden of oral disease begins with increased oral health literacy and increased accessibility to preventive dental services.
